Pale Blue Dot Week One: Photography
Week One
This is the first week of the Pale Blue Dot project and the first lesson was about photography. Photography is everywhere you look. It has became ingrained in our culture and people have turned it into a profession. We use it in our every day life from commercials, art, family outings and journalism.
This weeks visual language were shape and value. A shape is a 2D object. Shape can help portray emotion though, well, shapes. The way a shape looks can be characterised by its appearances. A square can be strong, a circle can be nice and friendly and a triangle can be quick or menacing. Value is the contrast between light and darkness. White is considered the brightest while black is considered the darkest. The colour grey bridges the two extremes in the middle.
Overall I wouldn't say I'm the best with a camera, there are a lot of terms and techniques to take in, plus I would need more sessions to fully get equipped with working with any type of camera. With that being said I found my self really getting along with my camera borrowed from my mother. I would say I need to learn to try and get shots straight and get shots in focus better but other then that I think I'am very decent. My theme is the architecture though the years so I wanted to get both ancient and modern types of architecture in the same shot. My original idea was to get the Shard in a window of the Tower of London. Although I did not succeed in getting the photo I wanted, I did get a second the idea, the Shard "piercing" the brick work of the Tower of London.

Hopefully I can apply my photography skills in the future to get great photos.
