Pale Blue Project Week Three: Film
Week Three
This week we work on film production. My understanding of film is many moving pictures that gives the illusion of moving. The earliest record of film was around the early 1890s, in which they were silent. They had rough editing and little to no story. We have come a long way since the with large cinematic marvels and endless entertainment. On Tuesday we put our ideas together. On Thursday we came up with a shot list. On Saturday we did filming and was able to save our work with everyone on the group.
The only visual language this week was space. Space is the area in which the art occupies. In 2D art there would only be a width and length. If the art is 3D then there is depth to the picture, statue or film. Its up to the artist how much of space is being used, it could be the whole space or maybe just the centre. For film the space is every thing in the shot, its up for the director to deicide what gets in.
Our idea is to gather as much footage of nature and modern day civilisation as posable. With all of the footage we’ll compare the past, nature, to the present, modern architecture and people going about there lives. We believe that this fits the theme of “Back to the Future” as we’re showing our world past beauty. This by no means says that modern day is fully flawed time but it does show how much simpler live was back them. People are always going some where or doing something that we never take a moment to experience the purled around us.

Overall it was a real challenge to put all of the work together and still get the message across, but I'am very proud of it. I hope in future projects that I can film and edit films with higher efficiency.
